Russell is our principal dentist at the practice, assuming the role in 2014. Russell graduated from Glasgow University in 2006 and has been working in and around Aberdeen for the last 10 years. He returned to his home city of Glasgow for a couple of years before moving back to the city to be with his lovely wife and to take over as the new owner at Skene Street Dental in 2014.
Russell has gained lots of experience and since graduating has furthered his knowledge of dentistry. Russell has recently completed dental implant training at the Scottish Centre of Excellence in Dentistry (Glasgow). He is also undergoing a year course in cosmetic dentistry at Chris Orr Advanced Dental Seminars in London.
Russell also works with the orthodontic system – Fastbraces. The evolution of Short Term Orthodontic systems are of particular interest to him. He enjoys seeing the dramatic results that can be achieve with little to no damage done to a patient’s teeth. These techniques are ideal for patients looking to improve their smiles without cutting your teeth.
In his spare time, Russell enjoys all sport. He has a particular interest in football, golf, cycling, running. He still plays football on a weekly basis for a local amateur team.
Dr Stephanie ThomsonGDC - 103049
Stephanie is originally from Aberdeen and graduation with honors from Dundee in 2006. After graduating she worked in Peterhead for four years before joining the Skene Street Dental in 2010. Stephanie enjoys all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry but she particularly enjoys spending time and helping nervous patients through their treatment.
Stephanie also has fantastic skills in dental care for children and only just recently went to visit the wonderful primary one pupils at Robert Gordon’s to teach them about visiting the dentist and how to look after your teeth.
In her spare time Stephanie enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children.
Cheryl Mackie GDC - 189925
I have been dental nursing for 10 years. I qualified as a dental nurse in 2009 at ADEC in Aberdeen.

I Re-joined the practice in 2014 having previously been here to start my training as a dental nurse back in 2007. I have worked in general practice, Aberdeen’s dental school and ARI and have gained experience assisting in placement of implants, Surgical Procedures and orthodontic treatment. When I am not at work I enjoy going to the cinema and as season ticket holder at Pittodrie I spend most Saturdays cheering on Aberdeen FC.
Louise FergusDental Nurse
Louise joined the team at Skene Street Dental in July 2015 as a trainee dental nurse. During her time here she has shown herself to be an extremely hard worker and an integral part of the team. She has completed her introduction to the dental nurse course and will continue with the rest of the course in January 2017. Louise is on the path to become a fantastic dental nurse and we are glad she joined our team. Outside of work Louise enjoys spending time with family and friends.
